Understanding climate change is simplified through digital design, data visualization, sound, and computer game technology.
City of College New York (CCNY) showcases climate data into an art at the Compton-Goethals Art Gallery, Room 134, Compton-Goethals Hall, CCNY campus, January 28 – February 14.
This exhibit showcases the convergence of art and science about climate change, initiated by Dr. Marco Tedesco, associate professor of Earth and atmospheric sciences at City College.
POLARSEEDS is the result of Tedesco’s scientific research. He worked together with his colleagues in music, graphic design, and video game departments to convey his findings on Greenland’s melting glaciers making it accessible and popular to a younger audience.
Listen to the sound of a melting glacier by Jonathan Perl, CCNY musicologist.
