Brent Freeman is the Founder/CEO of Roozt.com. Brent’s spirit for social entrepreneurship supports the ongoing trend in using business to make a difference. Brent lost his mom to cancer when he was young. This changed his life and made him realize that every day is a gift. Brent then started to explore and pursue opportunities, as he feels that he has an obligation to do something great.

Brent’s venture into entrepreneurship started even before he graduated from college. His initial perseverance of running an international commodities import/export business was operated from his college apartment – aka Suite 31 on 27th Street & University Ave. This ambitious venture was financially lucrative but Brent was looking for something more, something beyond financial gain… something that is emotionally satisfying and fulfilling. When the 2008 economic recession hits industries and businesses, Brent’s keen observation brought him into realizing a paradigm shift in the consumers’ behavior as well as his own passions. This sparked an idea for Brent to launch an internet platform that connects trendy and socially responsible brands with everyday online shoppers. And this is how Roozt.com was created.

Roozt.com is the world’s sexiest online marketplace for brands that give back at members only prices. Roozt campaigns for “One Member, One Meal” – for every member who joins (free), Roozt will provide a meal to an American in need.

Using Roozt as a platform, Brent is committed to “proving that the future of successful business is rooted in a business model that simultaneously benefits its employees, surrounding community, and the environment.”

Brent’s social activism extends beyond his office walls. Brent launched a pilot program in Los Angeles with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) “to teach social entrepreneurship to low-income, at-risk high school students.”

Brent graduated with a BA in Communication from the University of Southern California and finished at the top of his class in the Marshall School of Business Entrepreneur Program. Brent also minored in Italian. When Brent is not busy revolutionizing business practices or inspiring the new generation, Brent can be found “sunset gazing on the beach or parachuting/skydiving out of an airplane with his best friends” (this is an action sport that is recommended with an experienced and trained instructor for beginners).
